Oh where, oh where...

My Mom and Dad have been undecided for the past couple years. The location keeps changing. Where do we put the tree this year? At this moment, it is residing next to the fireplace, almost in front of it, to one side...knowing my Mom, it could change any minute now. The branches need to be rearranged and placed just right. What is the big deal? Just decorate the thing! The branches are sturdy...I done a test walk on one. It's perfect. My Mom was upset because my Dad didn't get a picture of me testing the branch. I have been draging out decorations for the past couple days...I'm ready to get the job done.
Tra-la, tra-la...

I have to do everything...

You want me to put the Halloween & Thanksgiving stuff in the hutch?
Because I'm smaller than you and I can fit in there?
I suppose I have to arrange and organize it too?
I already drug out a few Christmas things...
OK...where do I start? Oh well, everything seems to fit just fine right here.

Let me see...any more Christmas decorations in here?
I think I see a few houses in here, and some ornament hooks.

There...how does it look?

That just completely tuckered me out!
A full belly and some zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's

My easy chair...

This is my chair...when my Dad's not sitting here.
This is the arm of the chair... where I lay...when my Dad is sitting here.
My Dad is my best buddy.
Sometimes, I tap his arm with my paw, so he will pet me again and again and again! I love my Dad!

No photo shoot now...

I told you...I didn't want my picture taken now. Maybe later when I'm in a better mood. I'm just feeling finicky to day. Now I have some things to do...maybe I'll do a photo shoot later. Although there is only so much cuteness I can do a day. me-u, me-u

7 Facts Meme

I was tagged by Kitty Limericks to do the seven random facts meme. Here are the rules:
* Link to the person who tagged you and post the rules on your blog;*

Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself;
* Tag 7 random people at the end of your post & include links to their blogs;
* Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

This could get a little sappy!

1) I beam in the presence of my 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. They are my pride and joy. They are my fan club and I am theirs.

2) My buttons pop with pride, when I watch my oldest grandson perform with his guitar. He is very accomplished in classical, jazz and sometimes rock. He is also in his final year of grad-school.

3) I love musical theater. I love watching my 3rd oldest grandchild perform & dance & sing. His brother & sister were in a few plays with him. I just glowed watching all three perform.

4) I love Friday night football. I get a kick out of...watching two of the boys play. (brothers)

5) I laugh at some of my granddaughters, they giggle at everything when together.

6) My daughter & her family moved back here from across the country, words can't express my joy.

7) I love my kitties. Ernie passed a couple months ago...I still cry.

I'm soooooooo sleepy...

That sun feels so good on my back.

It's sleepy time...I'll be awake later...about dinner time. The smell of food will wake me up or my Dad when he comes home from work. Can't talk any more right now...

Ernie's rat...

Chancy says...
Ernie loved his rat...but, he never let me play with it. He had 3 or 4 rats hidden around the house. When Ernie had one of his rats, the wild man-cat came out in him. He held the rat dangling from his mouth, in a hunched position, with a grumbling meow in a low tone, quickly running to my mom's bedside and dropping it on the floor next to the bed. He then would kick it around, to place it strategically just where he wanted it. Then stretched out for a nap. After all, hunting is hard work. Most of the time, the rat was left there, so the next time he wanted to prey on something, he new where it was.
You know...crouched down, butt in the air with a wiggle and a leap.

Lady Chancy and Baby Ernie...

I'm Lady Chancy and I'm here to tell you that...Ernie was a hand full...he always wanted his own way with everything. Of course, since I am a lady, I allowed it!
He did have a wonderful sweet side to him, when he was asleep... We aren't very old here in this pix, but I was the oldest and the smartest. He was just a goofy little boy!
I did my best to keep him under control.

"The Rainbow Bridge" poem

"The Rainbow Bridge"
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Aug. 14, 2007

I miss Ernie, I was hoping this blog would help me grieve and get past the loss of "my Ernie". August 14, 2007 Ernie died. I still need work!

The kitty flap...

We installed a kitty flap between the laundry room and the family room.
I prefer the laundry room door closed, where the litter box is kept...The times Ernie needed to go through the flap, he would barrel through, we always new who was coming or going. He always gave us a good chuckle. When finished in the box, he always leaned out and scratched the wall next to the box or the floor. Chancy always covered up what she needed to. Ernie never did.

Ernie was a very playful cat! He loved to get a chase going with Chancy through the house. Chancy would find a hiding place when she needed a rest. For a long time Ernie didn't know where she was. When Ernie got a little older, he found Chancy's hiding places. But, by that time, Ernie was too big to get to her.

Ernie loved getting into a paper grocery bag to sleep, or any area that was enclosed. A drawer, a shoe (as a kitten), a cardboard box, laundry basket, suit case, guitar case...etc.

I could hear him through the night barreling in or out of the bedroom cat flap.
Sometimes he would jump onto the bed, scratch the bedding moving it in every direction, to make his resting spot.

At times when these two cats ran around the house, they sounded like they had shoes on. You can hear them coming and going.
Chancy would just sit and stare at Ernie, almost in disbelief of his antics.
